PROCESSIONS

PROCESSIONS was a once-in-a-lifetime mass participation artwork which celebrated one hundred years of votes for women.

Commissioned by 14-18 NOW and produced by Artichoke one hundred women artists were commissioned to work with organisations and communities across the UK to create one hundred centenary banners for PROCESSIONS as part of an extensive public programme of creative workshops.

Christina Inkster was the Project Facilitator for Shetland, and supported the co-creation of Shetland’s banner:

On Sunday 10th June 2018 Shetland’s banner was showcased in Edinburgh.

Representing Shetland, myself and co-creators of the banner, marched through the streets of Edinburgh alongside thousands of others from all across Scotland:
